This collection contains partial financial records of a succession of early 20th century businesses involving Mr. S. Edward Knudson and a number of his partners. The records included in the collection are varied. The bulk are records of charge account sales and contract sales (or contractor sales). One ledger is devoted entirely to an inventory of the business at the close of 1904. This may have coincided with the formation of the Knudson - Jacob Company, though there is no firm confirmation of that.
